Biography of the Director

Raveendran Pradeepan was born on the 12th of July 1981 in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. He left the Island in 2004 because of the ethnic conflict and came to France, seeking asylum.  He was granted political refugee status in 2007, and now lives in Paris. His chief interests are film direction and photography. He organized two photography exhibitions, one in Paris (2006) and the other one in Berlin (2007), both with the theme of exile life. These exhibitions well visited and appreciated by the Tamil Diaspora Community in Europe. He is also on the editorial board of the Tamil Diaspora quarterly magazine Uyirnizhal (Shadow of the soul), a politically oriented literary magazine.
